Women’s Squad

This year we currently have a strong squad of 50 athletes ranging from those who have just graduated from our new Learn to Row course, to a (young) World Masters Single Sculls Champion. The new squad structure caters for those new to rowing and developing their technique to seasoned athletes wishing to train seriously hard and achieve at the highest level. Our training programme is unique in that every athlete has their own personal goals and a structured programme to increase strength, endurance and stamina.

Our aims this year are to boat some serious crews in the winter Head races, compete at the major quality regattas leading up to Henley Women’s and the British Championships, but also to make sure that everyone gets plenty of opportunities to race at their own level with success and have some fun along the way.

The club has some fun weekends away in the summer at Bewdley, Peterborough and other local regattas. We also run an Easter training camp, venue for 2012 to be confirmed.

Nigel Smith, Murray Eldridge, Simon Last and Alexandra Tapley provide excellent support as our coaching team.

2012 is going to be an exciting year for us as well as being Olympic Year.
