Located on one of the finest stetches of the Thames the master’s squad at RRC has a vibrant mix of men’s and women’s rowers and scullers of all abilities. Whether you are an experienced and competitive rower looking to compete at national or international level, someone returning to rowing or would like to learn to row we have a crew for you.

The master’s squad at Reading Rowing Club is one of the largest and most varied within the club, supporting over 90 active male and female members. Many of our members are very experienced and competitive rowers and scullers, while many have learnt to row at Reading on one of our excellent learn to row courses and some have returned to rowing after a break.

With excellent modern facilities on one of the finest stretches of the Thames we pride ourselves on welcoming and supporting all levels of rowers and scullers. Many of our squad regularly compete and win at both national and international levels, most recently achieving joint 6th overall at the World Masters in Budapest out of 722 clubs, while many of the squad come to enjoy a satisfying paddle and just keep fit. The master’s squad train throughout the year, on both land and water, with a variety of courses and coaching available to help members improve or refresh their technique and get the most of out of their rowing or sculling.

Many of the master’s squad are involved with the running of the club and there is an active social side to the squad with regular events and activities. The main training sessions for the master’s squad are on a Saturday and Sunday with additional weekday evening outings during the summer months.
